michael-small pic (1)Michael Burak graduated from the University of Calgary with 2 degrees: A major in Spanish and a major in Linguistics with a concentration in Russian. During his studies at University, he realized that there was a gap between the academic world and the business world. This realization drove Michael to find his passion: Helping bring the world together through language and communication. He created and founded the University of Calgary Translation Association and went on to co-found the Non-Profit Charity – the International Translators and Interpreters Foundation (INTIF).

As the current Chairman of the Board, he aspires to pave the way for new Translators and Interpreters so they can find their passion in language; meanwhile connecting these aspiring linguists to current opportunities for learning and careers in the field. Realizing that our world is in a bigger demand than ever for qualified translators and interpreters, Michael strives to create long-lasting partnerships with Certifying Bodies, Professional Associations, Community Organizations and companies to “bridge the gap” we are currently facing in our communities and in foreign affairs.
